Carol was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was a flight attendant for Northwest
Airlines from 1966 to 1969 before marrying her husband John (Jay) Doering, also one
of the Pastors on the Parker Ford Team. She is the mother of three children,
Samantha, Ernie, Tim and grandmother of five.
She was asked by Pastor Robert Latshaw to be part of a Shared Ministry Team which
was formed in 1999 as the Pastor of Visitation. Carol says “After praying and
receiving the encourage-ment of my husband I started the process in 1998 and was
licensed to Ministry by the District after being affirmed by the congregation in March
of 1999.”
Her training took place at the Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center, which is an
extension of Bethany Seminary, located at Elizabethtown College. She was ordained
to Ministry in October 2005.
Carol tells us “I made a commitment to Jesus Christ in August of 1975 when I lived in
Lancaster County, PA.” She and her husband moved in 1978 and have been at the
Parker Ford Church since moving to the Pottstown area.
“Parker Ford received us with open arms and they have been very affirming.”
