PASTOR JAY DOERING
Parker Ford Church

Jay was born in Baltimore Maryland and grew up in suburban Philadelphia. He attended
University of Pennsylvania receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After five
years in the navy where he served as a helicopter pilot, he began career with
Philadelphia Electric Company working in their nuclear power plants, eventually assuming
leadership roles at the Limerick and Peach Bottom nuclear facilities. Now retired from
active plant management, he continues his involvement with the nuclear industry as a
management and leadership consultant.

Married while still in the naval service, Jay and his wife Carol raised a family of three
children. At age 32, he accepted Christ as savior. A 1978 job transfer brought Jay
and Carol to Parker Ford where they began attending Parker Ford Church becoming
involved in many of the activities of the church.

Along with Carol, Jay was called into the ministry by Parker Ford Church and licensed
in 1999. In 2005 he was ordained after five years of training. Jay preaches, teaches
Sunday school, and conducts bible studies along with a host of other pastoral
responsibilities.

In addition to visiting his five grandchildren, Jay spends any spare time kayaking,
occasionally bicycling, and on rare occasions, golfing.

“Parker Ford Church is embarked on a great adventure as we follow God’s exciting plan
for our future. I am in love with this congregation and consider myself blessed to be
part of it!”
